On the occasion of International Vyshyvanka Day, the International Humanitarian and Pedagogical Institute "Beit Chana" held a special thematic event dedicated to Ukrainian traditions, cultural heritage, and national identity.
The celebration brought together students and faculty of the institute in a warm atmosphere of respect for Ukrainian culture and its centuries-old traditions. Participants shared stories of their family vyshyvankas, took part in an engaging quiz, created their own ornamental designs, and recited heartfelt poems that revealed the symbolism and deeper meaning of Ukrainian embroidery.
The event was led by Iryna Fedorenko, a senior lecturer and methodologist of the Department of Humanities and Socio-Economic Studies, who emphasized the importance of preserving national traditions and passing cultural heritage on to the younger generation.
The vyshyvanka is not merely a traditional garment — it is a living history, the memory and spiritual code of the Ukrainian people, uniting generations and safeguarding national identity.
